A Blog about the Blog

All right folks. I hate to be a nag, but we need to get something straight about the blog. You may think that I blog to have a record of my life or that I blog for my own mental health, or maybe even that I blog because I have nothing better to do. Well, if you think any of these things, you are wrong. I blog solely for the comments. The first blog started off with a whopping 16 comments. Next blog, half as many. This last blog about my GRADUMUCATION only scored a measley 2 comments. And one of those comments was from my brother-in-law who was sitting directly beside me when he wrote the comment. This is sad.

Let me just say, all comments are welcome. Even if you are a crazy stalker person, your comment is welcome. Even if you don't want me to know that you read the blog but you do, comment. Even if you think I am the biggest loser in the whole wide world, leave that as a comment. From the lack of comments, it appears that no one is reading my blog except my sister and brother-in-law and if that is true, just damn. I talk to them enough that I don't need to blog to them. Your comment doesn't need to be witty, even though wit is always appreciated on the blog. How bout a simple "Congrats" or "I like the blog" or "I think you're stupid." All will be very much appreciated.

Soooo.... all this to say, I have made an executive decision to not blog again til this blog matches the first blog with a whopping 16 comments. I have faith and I know we can do it together.

Love to all my blog-fans,
Jessie

I'll be the first to comment!

Now, I want to give credit where credit is due....what that susanj or susanp?? whoever it was, I can't wait to see you in Charleston in a few weeks either!!

Crazy how you have this much time to blog! We all eagerly watch and wait to see if the blog will survive.

One question - does the total number of comments include your replies? If so, does that mean that only 8 people really have to comment.

Finally, should blogging be added to the Hippocratic oath? "First, do no harm, Second, Blog about doing no harm"!

Well uvegot2muchfreetime, after much careful consideration and reviewing the first blog again, I have decided that my comments will count as part of the 16 provided they don't count for more than 50% of the total. I think this sounds reasonable, don't you??

what the crap?

as far as i know, i'm neither your sister nor your brother-in-law and i read this thing.

i like it. keep doing what you do.

OMG - I am sooo excited about my first anonymi comment! If I had to take a guess though, I would bet it was my brother-in-law reblogging to up the comment count. If this is not the case, here's a big thanks to the anonymous comment!

Anonymous said...

Ooo, you can change your blogger name. So doing that now.

Does it count if the same person comments 16 times?

Anonymous said...

BTW, the first one was me too. You can't stop blogging because I would have less to read at work if you did.

Anonymous said...

No, for the love of God, don't stop blogging. I'll start commenting to keep it going!

Hey there. You know I love the blog, but since I'm your sister, it sounds like it doesn't matter! And, by the way, lately we've been talking a lot, but don't forgat all of those times that I leave 5-6 stalker messages before getting a return call! So, the blog would be helpful during the dry spells!!!

You know I love the blog & it makes me laugh everytime I read it. Hey, I've even passed it on to others!

Gotta get back to work!

Love ya!

Ok, here's an update on the rules:

1) Multiple comments from the same blogger don't count.

2) Making up a new name and commenting when you have already commented does not count. I mean, I'm pretty smart being a doctor and all so don't think you can fool me!

Keeping these new rules in mind, 1 of Suses comments does not count and I am fairly certain dontstop is a repeat blogger so we are at all total of 8 comments now. Halfway there! Keep on commenting!

okay, okay...excuse me for not commenting before now. shameful, i know. however, i have been actively keeping up with the blog (despite the less than flattering pics of me looking like i like pie). i love the blog and fully intend on copying you with one of my own once i have nothing to do.
now, most importantly, the graduation weekend was SO fun and for the millionth time i am so proud of you and cannot wait for my first perscription. also, seeing your #1 blog fans (my donkey sis and donkey brother-in-law) was wonderful as always!
keep making your friends (and maybe some strangers) laugh with your newest obsession-long live the blog!!!
love you,
the hlm

excuse me spelling bee champion-prescription, not PERscription...ooops! maybe i do like pie.

Anonymous said...

I know this won't count as I have already left one, but I am soooooo excited to see the HLM on the comments. And, tears in my eyes about "i like pie". Don't feel bad - every single one of my comments has typos in it. However, I am quite sure that most of the time I do like pie! : ) Especially now.

Great seeing you all this weekend!

Chalk up another comment!

OK, I see that Suses already cleared up the confusion, but it is definitely and unfortunately not me who will be seeing you in Charleston in a few weeks. This is primarily because I will be splitting my time between Chicago and New York for the next, oh, month or so.

Whoever Ryan is, I ditto his comment by saying that I always read your blog, even if I don't leave a comment. I highly enjoy the chance to keep up with your life since we are both busy, busy girls who don't always have hours of phone time to spare. Plus, I laugh out loud reading it. =)

Miss you a ton! And check your facebook if you don't mind; I have a question for you...

I'll leave a flippin' comment, but just because I am a true friend and I'm willing to overlook the fact that I haven't heard from you in probably over 1.5 years now, even after repeated messages on my end. I'm willing to overlook this in light of the fact that you were my super-cool roomate in college and you've been "busy" with all that "med school" crap. Love to fill you in sometime on what's up with MY life. I'm married with 3 kids now, ya know... or maybe you didn't know that... ;) Miss ya and hope you're doing well. Don't bitch about people not blogging, I remember a day when a "blog" was some slimy monster with big teeth and a spiky tail you'd see on a B-rated science fiction flick...

Oh Justin,
If you look at my archives and go back and read my very first blog entitled "in the beginning...," you will notice 2 things:
1) You are not alone in your annoyance with my lackadaisical communication habits, and
2) It is precisely people like you who I started the blog for in the first place!!

I actually have thought to myself several times, "I wonder when JDD is going to comment because I know he can't hold back from letting me know how much I suck!" Anyways, I digress. I get to see you twice in the month of June - can't wait!

Your blog is awesome! I showed it to my boss and she thinks you should keep it too (does that count as a comment?). In case being a doc doesn't work, you should be a party planner cause your parties rock!! Happy Graduation and hope your enjoying your Bella Lucce! btw, this is abby :-)

Ryan said...

I just showed your blog to my dog and he said keep it too. Ok, I don't have a dog but if I did, that's what he would probably say. I think.

Anonymous said...

Doodle votes to keep it as well!! He gets a kick out of it. He would alsolike to tell you that his mom brushed him for 30 mins last night & she actually considered pulling out the Animal after there was so much fur in the air she could barely breathe! :)

Love you,

why you gotta be so funny??

Anonymous said...

well kids, by my count we now have 15 bonafide blog comments so we only need one more for the blog to survive! i'm already dreaming up the topic for the next blog.....

Anonymous said...

Where are you counting these comments? Because I only counted 11, 12 including this one.

And I was going to boycott until you returned my call, but here. Comment 16.

Anonymous said...

It's amazing, you read my mind! Congrats, I like the blog and I think you're stupid.

Hahahahahahaha... who is this Shereef? We like the funny.

first of all, is it even possible for you to be bored in manhattan?? i mean, i'm bored in columbia and that is why i spend my days blogging and facebooking, but manhattan??

second of all, i'm sure you know shereef. you've probably even met shereef. he's the guy in my med school class who has been madly in love with me for the past four years but i have never given him the go ahead.

sorry shereef. bad jessie.

Random right? I saw you plugging your blog on Elizabeth Ballentine's Facebook so I had to check it out! Pretty good so far and thought I'd add to the commenting to keep you motivated.

Anonymous said...

alison williams?? jesus christ!! the blog has gone international! so glad you commented, all these beotches read and dont comment which negates all the fun...saw your engagement pic in the paper. Congrats! You looked beautiful and I loved how artsy fartsy the picture looked!

Keep checkin in on the ole blog....it is yet to be seen if it will survive, but very fun for now!

OK, in my own defense, I was legitimately bored in Manhattan b/c it was POURING rain and miserable outside. I did at least go out for dinner but after that little foray into the monsoon, I decided to stay in the hotel room. Gimme a friggin break.

And yeah, you're right, I do remember you telling me about Shereef. Didn't make the connection. (No offense Shereef.)

Unknown said...

Not the most accurate description of me...What Jessie neglected to say is how much she loves my charming personality, great looks, and my ability to not make fun of her even when it's so very easy.

Nice comeback.

Oh, and I'm sorry I suck so bad at tennis. Almost as sorry as I am that I sweated three times at much as you.
